The Armament and Disarmament Summer School 2025 is a fully funded, five-day program held from August 25–29, 2025, in Sweden at SIPRI and Uppsala University’s AMC. This initiative aims to nurture the next generation of professionals in disarmament, non-proliferation, and arms control. Armament and Disarmament Summer School offers lectures, discussions, workshops, and institutional visits to educate and empower future professionals in disarmament, non-proliferation, and arms control.

The Armament and Disarmament Summer School program covers travel, visa, insurance, accommodation, and meals, while personal expenses remain the participant’s responsibility. It aims to build a global network of experts committed to a peaceful and sustainable future. Applications are open until March 28, 2025.

The curriculum encompasses:

Participants are responsible for personal expenses beyond the provided coverage

  • Open to 25 highly motivated individuals: students, researchers, policymakers, practitioners, or junior professionals.
  • Must have a completed bachelor’s degree before the course starts.
  • Must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from university.
  • Previous participants are not eligible.
  • Diversity encouraged: Women, underrepresented groups, and candidates from developing countries are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • English proficiency required (no interpretation/translation available).

Applicants must submit:

  • A resume/CV detailing relevant academic and professional experiences, including two references with contact information.
  • A one-page motivation letter explaining their interest in the course and reasons for selection.

These documents should be in English.

  • Leisure & Miscellaneous: 1,000 – 2,000 SEK

Total Estimated Cost: 8,000 – 12,000 SEK per month
