A stipend of $25,000 and academic-year tuition at the general graduate rate for up to 14 credits per semester

The University distributes the stipend in bi-weekly payments throughout the academic year, following the University payroll schedule.
The post-baccalaureate tuition rate matches the standard rate for most Graduate School programs and some professional degrees. Fellows must cover additional fees (about $1,200 per year) and any tuition costs exceeding the standard rate.
DOVE Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in the GSDO Summer Institute Research Program.
Graduate programs will also commit a minimum of $1,000 to support the participation of the DOVE fellow in research/conference travel during their degree program (can be used outside of the DOVE Fellowship year).

To qualify, applicants must:
Recipients must seek admission to a professional education master’s or doctoral degree program as degree-seeking students for the fall semester of 2025.
Eligible graduate programs include master’s or doctoral research-based programs.
Recipients must enroll full-time each semester and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Applicants entering a University of Minnesota graduate program in the 2024-25 academic year. Graduate students who are transferring from another institution and who have not already earned a terminal degree are also eligible.
If selected, the recipient must gain admission to the nominating graduate research program as a degree-seeking student by the Fall semester of 2025.
The DOVE Fellowship is open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, students with lawful non-temporary status in the U.S., and MN Dream Act students starting a graduate program at the University of Minnesota in 2025-2026
