The Malardalen University Scholarship 2025 offers a tuition fee waiver to outstanding international students applying for master’s programs. It aims to support academically talented students from outside the EU/EEA. Every year Malardalen University offers a limited number of scholarships to students applying for a Master’s programme with us as their first choice. The Malardalen University Scholarship targets highly qualified students from non-EU/EEA/Switzerland countries who must pay tuition fees. It does not apply to students from the 12 countries with which Sweden has long-term development cooperation.

  • To be considered for the scholarship, you must apply to a program at Mälardalen University as your first choice and pay the application fee by the published deadlines on University admissions.
  • The scholarship targets highly qualified students from countries outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland who need to pay tuition fees.
  • Applicants must be citizens of non-EU/EEA countries.
  • The scholarship is not available to students from the twelve countries with which Sweden has long-term development cooperation: Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. Students from these countries should apply for the Swedish Institute Study Scholarship instead.

  1. Apply for a master’s program at Mälardalen University through the Swedish admissions portal
  2. Fill out the Scholarship form and submit the application together with your other documents universityadmission.se
  3. Deadline for supporting documents for the application and Scholarship application is 3 February 2025. 
  4. Notification of scholarships granted is sent by email between 28-31 March. Mälardalen University will use the same email address as used on University Admissions.

  • Accommodation: 4,000–6,000 SEK (student housing or shared apartments)
  • Food: 2,000–3,000 SEK
  • Transportation: 500–1,000 SEK (public transport or biking)
  • Study Materials: 500–1,000 SEK
  • Leisure and Miscellaneous: 1,000–2,000 SEK

Total Estimated Monthly Cost: 8,000–10,000 SEK
