The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals is an academic scholarship provided for full-time, one- or two-year, master’s studies at several universities in Sweden. The Swedish Institute (SI) Scholarship for Global Professionals 2025 is a prestigious scholarship program aimed at high-achieving international students. Through the scholarship, the Swedish Institute (SI) aim to develop a network of global leaders committed to advancing Sustainable Development Goals and drive the development of their home countries forward.

The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals covers a wide range of study fields and over 700 of the around 1000 English-taught master’s programs in Sweden. It covers tuition fees, living expenses, and other benefits for master’s degree studies in Sweden. The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals is open for applications once every year, for master’s studies beginning in the autumn semester.

  • 1 November 2024: SI Scholarship application documents and eligible programs are published.

        • Be a citizen of one of the 33 eligible countries for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals;

        • Be liable to pay tuition fees at University Admissions;  
          • Have paid the application fee for master’s programs on time
          • Must be admitted (or conditionally admitted) to one of the eligible master’s programmes on the day of admissions announcements.
        • Have demonstrated work experience; 
        • Have demonstrated leadership experience from current or previous employer, or from civil society engagement.  
        • If you have dual citizenship and all are eligible for SI scholarship, you should choose only one citizenship when applying for the scholarship.
        • Applicants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine: Must provide proof of work experience. There is no specific hour requirement, but more experience will be prioritized.
        • Applicants from Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, Vietnam, Zambia: Must have at least 3,000 hours of work experience before February 2025. These hours can be accumulated from up to three employers.

              The estimated monthly living expenses for international students in Sweden typically range between SEK 8,000 to SEK 10,000. This amount covers:

              • Personal Expenses: Leisure, study materials, and miscellaneous costs
