Taiwan AID NGO Fellowship Program 2025: Taiwan

The Taiwan AID NGO Fellowship Program 2025 is a fully funded, one-month initiative designed to immerse NGO professionals from Asia in Taiwan’s dynamic civil society. The Taiwan Alliance in International Development (Taiwan AID) invites passionate NGO professionals from South Asia, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands to join its fully funded NGO Fellowship Program. Participant quota is flexible and subject to Taiwan AID’s decision.

Scheduled from October 13 to November 7, 2025, the Taiwan AID NGO Fellowship Program is a one-month program that offers hands-on experience with Taiwanese NGOs, tailored to each fellow’s professional background. Participants will engage in a three-week NGO placement, attend workshops, and connect with peers and local experts through roundtable discussions, gaining valuable insight into Taiwan’s vibrant civil society. Applications are open until June 1, 2025. ​

Participants will engage in:

  • Workshops on NGO operations
  • Three-week placements within Taiwanese NGOs
  • Roundtable discussions with local counterparts​
  • Round-trip flight expenses will be covered
  • Lodging will be provided (shared room)
  • Meals will be included
  • Local transportation in Taiwan will be covered
  • Fellows will receive a per diem during the three-week NGO placement

  • Travel insurance (unless specified)​

    • Medical service
    • Social welfare
  • Outstanding applicants from other fields may also be considered
  • Age between 25 and 40
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • Mandarin fluency is a plus
  • Southeast Asia: Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam
  • South Asia: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan
  • Northeast Asia: Japan, South Korea, Mongolia
  • Pacific Island Region: Palau, Marshall Islands, Tuvalu

While the fellowship covers major expenses, understanding living costs is beneficial:

  • Accommodation: NT$8,000–NT$15,000/month
  • Food: NT$6,000–NT$10,000/month
  • Transportation: NT$1,000–NT$2,000/month
  • Miscellaneous: NT$2,000–NT$4,000/month​
  • Note: 1 USD ≈ NT$30 (as of April 2025)​

Q1: Is there an age limit for applicants?

No specific age limit is mentioned; however, applicants should be active NGO professionals.​

Q2: Do I need to know Mandarin?

While not mandatory, fluency in Mandarin is considered a plus.​

Q3: Can I apply if I work in a government organization?

The program primarily targets NGO professionals; applicants from government sectors may not be eligible.​

Q4: Are family members allowed to accompany fellows?

The fellowship covers expenses only for the selected fellows; accompanying family members would need to cover their own expenses.​

Q5: Will I receive a certificate upon completion?

Yes, participants typically receive a certificate recognizing their participation and contributions.
